Bishop of Hereford pledges his time for us

Bishop of Hereford pledges his time for us

A very special visitor pledged some time as part of a drive by St Michael’s Hospice to attract more retail volunteers.

The Bishop of Hereford, The Rt Revd Richard Jackson, spent an afternoon in the Hospice’s Ledbury shop on The Homend.

The Bishop was given full till training, helped sort stock, and met customers who were browsing items in the busy town centre store.

Bishop Richard added:

“I enjoyed my time volunteering and was made to feel very welcome. The till training was straightforward and I even made a few sales.

It was a pleasure to volunteer and support the work of St Michael’s Hospice.”

The Hospice, which is based in Bartestree, has retail stores all across Herefordshire and beyond, and is appealing for volunteers who can choose from a range of different roles including sales assistants, sorters and stock valuers.

“If you can give just a few hours a week, I would encourage anyone to do so. It really will make a huge difference to St Michael’s, enabling its clinical staff to continue delivering high quality free of charge care and support.
