Around £30K raised following Barbarians' latest match
All roads led to Luctonians for the fourth instalment of the Hospice Barbarians rugby series.
Around £30,000 was raised following Saturday’s much-anticipated fundraiser which, for the first time, featured our women’s team, the Hospice Amazonians as well as the Barbarians against Welsh No Stars Invitation XV.
Spectators were also treated to an Under 18s match.
Thank you to everyone who attended, plus our sponsors, and Luctonians for hosting us so well.
And, of course, thanks to the organising committee and founders Nick and Helen Nenadich for their continued dedication to this incredible annual event which has contributed so much to St Michael’s Hospice.

The Story of the Hospice Barbarians
The Hospice Barbarians were founded in 2023 by Nick Nenadich, born from a deep love of rugby and a strong desire to give something back to St Michael’s Hospice. Channeling his passion and determination, Nick brought together an open, fast-paced and entertaining squad made up of players from across Herefordshire and south Shropshire.
Since their formation, the Hospice Barbarians have taken to the field each year in support of the Hospice, with every player, coach and trainer generously giving their time to help raise vital funds for patient care across Herefordshire. In 2026, the Barbarians story enters an exciting new chapter with the debut of the Hospice Amazonians (the women’s team) further growing the rugby family behind this special cause.
