A warm welcome to our new Chair of Trustees

A warm welcome to our new Chair of Trustees

David Teague says he is honoured and delighted to have been selected as the next Chair of Trustees  at St Michael’s Hospice.

Mr Teague replaces Alister Walshe who announced last month he would be stepping down at the end of March following an almost 20-year association with the Bartestree-based Hospice.

For Mr Teague, who steps up from his position as Vice Chair, is excited to take on the role.

‘It’s quite a task and I have big shoes to fill’ he said, going on to say:  ‘During my time as Vice Chair I witnessed Alister’s dedication and passion in bringing his expertise, knowledge and standing in the community to St Michael’s over the years.

‘He leaves a great legacy and foundation for the board to build on.’

Mr Teague has long admired the Hospice’s staff and volunteers, who he says ‘show such immense compassion and care in everything they do.  St Michael’s prides itself on giving the level of care we would expect for our own family and friends and everyone is treated as an important individual.’

The Hospice’s Chief Executive, Mike Keel, says he is looking forward to continuing to work with David in his new role to carry on the great work our hospice has done for nearly 37 years.

‘The number of people needing care and support from St Michael’s increases each year, but our hospice remains committed to ensuring each and every one of them gets the care they deserve and want at the end of their life,’ he said.
