Charity Pop-Up Shop Wins 5 Stars at Malvern Spring Festival
Championing the power of pre-loved, St Michael’s Hospice wowed judges at Malvern Spring Festival with a sustainably styled pop-up charity shop.
Our stand, which showcases a variety of quality pre-loved goods as well as sustainable floral displays tied to the theme of ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Relove’, received an impressive 5 Star Trade Stand Award from RHS judges.
Jo Stephens, Business Development Manager, who runs our pop-up shops and coordinated the design for the event, said, “we are so thrilled that the judges responded so warmly to our stand and messaging. It was an emotional moment to hear it called ‘outstanding’ and know that the work of our team of staff and volunteers, both here, at our shops, and at the Hospice, was so appreciated and understood.
“This stand was a true collaborative effort. From volunteers and staff who helped source stock, set up and man the stand, to the local sustainable floral designer, who donated her time to create and realise the eco-floral vision for the stand. We hope it not only raise essential funds for Hospice care but demonstrates how reusing items can be both sustainable and beautiful.”
Eco-friendly floral elements were created and kindly donated by Avril Broom of FoodFriendsFlowers, and included a dried Allium Chandelier, a large eucalyptus swag (with foliage sourced mostly from trees at St Michael’s Whitestone Superstore) adorned with mended China bells and vintage teacups, and a display of upcycled cake tins transformed into eco-friendly planters. A beautiful Cyanotype print was also donated by Alexa Summers Art for use in a prize draw.
Our stand is at Malvern Spring Festival until Sunday 10th May and further Pop-up Shops can be found at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show in July and Kington Show in September.
