We're having a laugh – how Laughter Yoga was brought to our Day Services
“Research has shown that laughing frequently strengthens our immune system, boosts mood, diminishes pain and protects us from the damaging effects of stress"
The sound of a good titter, chuckle and giggle rang out from St Michael’s as those visiting our day services enjoyed Laughter Yoga.
Laughter Yoga is a combination of laughter and breathing exercises which are good for the body, mind, spirit and soul.
Elaine Pawley, our Lead Social Worker, led the session.
“Research has shown that laughing frequently strengthens our immune system, boosts mood, diminishes pain and protects us from the damaging effects of stress,” Elaine said.
“So not only are these sessions fun, they also carry a huge benefit to those taking part.”
