The Hospice Barbarians are back, bigger than ever!
What started as the much-loved Annual Hospice Barbarians Match has now grown into a day packed full of rugby in support of St Michael’s Hospice.
You’ll see U18s fixtures showcasing our rising local stars, witness the highly anticipated debut of the Hospice Amazonians, and experience the main event as the Hospice Barbarians battle it out for the trophy.

A Legacy in the Making:
The Story of the Hospice Barbarians
The Hospice Barbarians were founded in 2023 by Nick Nenadich, born from a deep love of rugby and a strong desire to give something back to St Michael’s Hospice. Channeling his passion and determination, Nick brought together an open, fast-paced and entertaining squad made up of players from across Herefordshire and south Shropshire.
Since their formation, the Hospice Barbarians have taken to the field each year in support of the Hospice, with every player, coach and trainer generously giving their time to help raise vital funds for patient care across Herefordshire. In 2026, the Barbarians story enters an exciting new chapter with the debut of the Hospice Amazonians (the women’s team) further growing the rugby family behind this special cause.
