Just feet apart yet wonderfully distinct, these two gardens each offer their own unique atmosphere. The Poplands is a mature and thoughtfully planted garden, rich with colour and texture. Water features, flower-filled borders, and an ethereal grasses border create a calm and welcoming space. Orchard beds showcase a hosta collection, while extensive salvias and agapanthas thrive throughout the garden.
Recent additions include a well-stocked polytunnel, flourishing vegetable beds, and insect-friendly wildflower areas. The garden also plays an important role as a sanctuary and release site for rescued hedgehogs, adding to its sense of purpose and care.
In contrast, The Harp Garden is wild, quirky, and full of surprises. Spanning over an acre and developed over the past 20 years, it combines areas of woodland with more than a hundred trees and a series of enclosed gardens, each with its own shape and character. There are many inviting places to sit, rest, and reflect, all while enjoying sweeping views east towards the Malvern Hills, May Hill, the Forest of Dean, and St Weonards.
Together, these gardens offer a rich blend of cultivated beauty and untamed charm.
Wander at your own pace through two very different yet complementary gardens and appreciate the subtle touches of nature at every turn. Treat yourself to delicious homemade cakes and a cup of tea, available for purchase from St Michael’s Hospice. A wonderful outing for all ages. With free parking in an adjacent field, it’s the perfect outing for garden lovers and families alike.
Please note: unfortunately, these gardens are not wheelchair accessible and no dogs are allowed.
Entrance: One way from the A466, please look out for Hospice signage.
