"Mark is an inspiration to us all!"
Read how Kingspan donated £5,00 to St Michael’s in honour of employee Mark
When staff at Kingspan heard their colleague was raising money for St Michael’s despite his own cancer diagnosis, they were keen to show their support.
Mark Radon was midway through a year-long series of fundraisers in memory of his sister, Jo, when he received news he had Non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Remarkably, in the face of this setback, Mark said he still wanted to finish the fundraising journey he’d started, by completing 2025 miles in 2025.
To show they’re thinking of him, Mark’s colleagues at Kingspan’s Pembridge site created a makeshift gym, taking turns to use exercise bikes and treadmills to clock up 2025 miles themselves.
Off the back of this, Kingspan has donated £5,000 to St Michael’s!
“We are absolutely thrilled to be able to present this cheque for £5,000 in support of our colleague Mark, who has shown remarkable dedication and unwavering determination in his fundraising efforts, despite the enormous challenges he has faced,” said Jo Croose, Operations Manager at Kingspan’s Pembridge site.
“He truly is an inspiration to us all! We were extremely proud to stand behind him as a team in support of such a meaningful cause. Thank you to everyone at St Michael’s Hospice for the vital work you do!”
