About the role

This position will be based across multiple sites, with Whitestone being a main point of cover, there is also some flexibility towards how hours are worked across the week. This can be discussed at interview.

Joining the facilities team, the purpose of this position to maintain the hospice to highest standards. Completing day to day cleaning tasks as well as more detailed deep cleans, this role will work ensure the site is kept clean for all service users as well as ensuring excellent hygiene to prevent spread of infection.

As this position will be in contact with service users, you will need to be a friendly individual who is confident in sensitive situations, you will also be subject to a DBS check.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a friendly, hard working individual to join our team at St Michael’s Hospice. The right candidate will have a working knowledge of COSHH regulations and understand the need and use of PPE. They will also have a good understanding of infection prevention and will have drive to ensure this is followed at all times. We are looking for someone who has a level 2 certificate in Cleaning and Support Services Skills, or has evidence of equivalent experience.

Our Housekeepers are an integral part of the Hospice, who have regular contact with staff and service users, so it is essential for the right person to be able to build strong relationships quickly as well as being able to perform demanding tasks.
