A DVD for Carers has been created by St Michael’s Hospice and produced by Silva Productions. It is an in-depth resource for Carers who are caring for loved ones with a life-limiting illness.
Entitled ‘Living to the End of Life’ the DVD is split into three films: Personal Perspectives on Caring contains interviews exploring how different individuals and families have coped with becoming a carer; A Very Different Story -Tony and Joan’s story reveals some of the issues of long term illness and long term care; Practical Aspects of Caring is a series of demonstrations and interviews with health care professionals, and contains chapters on comfort, movement and safety, the ‘M’ Technique, mouth care, bladder and bowels, and when death is near. Each film can be viewed in entirety or chapter by chapter.
The DVD comes with a resource pack including a short user guide explaining the menu system, and sections that complement the filmed content, plus two small directories: Useful Contacts and Useful Financial Information.
