This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small strategic Human Resources team at a time of positive organisational change, in the key role of HR Officer, with a focus on employee engagement and policy.

St Michael’s Hospice reaches its fortieth anniversary in 2024, whilst celebrating the achievement of becoming one of the top 30 charities to work for in the UK this year. The HR Department is continuing on its own developmental journey to delivering a more strategic approach to managing people, culture and organisational development.   

Appointing a great person to this important new role will make a step change in ensuring the team delivers effective and timely HR services. And how we work is equally important, so if you are change-orientated, with a continuous improvement approach, possess a naturally collaborative style, and stay calm and optimistic while finding solutions and providing great service to colleagues, then this is for you!    

You’ll need experience of working in a busy HR environment in a similarly demanding role, giving advice and support across the whole range of HR responsibilities and experience of systematic HR policy review. You’ll thrive on a high volume of work, working with accuracy and at pace. You will have a CIPD qualification at Level 5 minimum but we are flexible as to sector experience and whether you’ve obtained your experience and skills in paid or volunteer work, formal/professional or informal/personal settings.
