Hiring volunteer call centre

We are launching our BRAND NEW Call Centre and we are looking for new volunteers to help make it a success.

Retail is ever changing and as we grow Retail Department to meet increasing customer demand, we are looking for volunteers to support our new Call Centre.

Call Centre volunteers are the first point of contact for all prospective donors of goods to our High Street, Home & Living and online shops, providing a warm, friendly and professional service at all times. Whether you already have experience, or want to learn, these are some of the tasks you would help with: 

  • Answering the telephone in a courteous and professional manner.  
  • Responding to enquiries. 
  • Taking caller details accurately and confirming all details are correct. 
  • Logging collection appointments on the Fleet & Logistics database accurately. 
  • Taking and passing on messages, predominantly via email. 
  • Maintaining awareness of the charity’s work to answer general queries. 
  • Working in an effective and efficient manner with volunteer colleagues. 
  • Attending role specific training as required.  
  • Maintaining awareness and compliance with St Michael’s Hospice policies, guidelines and values. 

We currently have volunteer vacancies for the following shifts:

Monday to Friday 9am – 1pm & 1 – 4pm
