The Paint Runner – Postponed

WHEN: 20 Jun, 2020 | Registration from 9.30am; Paint Runner begins at 11am WHERE: King George V Playing Fields, Hereford HR2 7RQ

We have taken the decision to cancel or postpone all St Michael’s Hospice-led fundraising events over the coming months.

We are hoping to rearrange The Paint Runner for 29th August 2020

Soak up the summer spirit on Saturday 20th June by drenching your family in colour along our easy five-kilometre course featuring seven paint stations.

And after laughing your way over the finish line on Hereford’s King George V Playing Fields, cool off in the shadow of the main stage by entering our foam zone.

FAQs
What is the paint made of?
The powder paint is made from natural corn starch and is non-toxic, 100% safe and biodegradable. The dye is food grade tested, and although you can eat it, we strongly advise not to (not least because it won’t be tasty).

How do we get clean after?
At the finish line you can give yourself a good dusting off to remove most of the powder. You won’t be 100% clean, but you will be able to remove most of the paint. We recommend that you leave a towel in your car to cover your seat, or spare clothes to put on top of your running gear to ensure you get as little paint as possible on your seat. There are changing facilities provided by Halo (St Michael’s Hospice cannot be held responsible for any damage or paint getting on participants, vehicles, public transport or private property).

Can we bring Ipods, etc?
You can, but St Michael’s Hospice cannot accept responsibility for them. There will be plenty of entertainment throughout the course for you and we’ll have a photographer to upload some bright snaps of the day on Facebook.

Safety measures
If you have a skin allergy or respiratory condition we would recommend that you don’t take part or that you consult your doctor for advice. For little ones, we recommend wearing a mask or bandana just to be on the safe side! Runners are asked to wear their sunglasses over their eyes at all times throughout the event.

Spectators
Spectators are very welcome to join us. We do advise spectators to keep a good distance from the Paint Stations as we cannot accept responsibility for them accidently being showered in powder paint.

No dogs are allowed at this event.

Wheelchairs and pushchairs are welcome but please be aware they will get messy and the route is on grass.

As a thank you for raising £20 for us, we’ll give you 2 bags of paint to throw in the main area before you begin the 5k course.

In fact, for every £20 you raise on top of that, we’ll give you 2 bags of paint; raise £200 for us and that’s a whopping 20 bags of paint.

Become a Paint Running VIP by raising £100 or more. Not only will you get 10+ bags of paint but you’ll also get a goody bag filled with drinks, snacks and merchandise.

To exchange your sponsorship, you’ll need to either bring a printed copy of your JustGiving/Facebook page or have it loaded onto your phone/a screen shot to show the staff in the merchandise tent. We will also take sponsorship money from you if you’ve collected it that way.

Your entry fees go towards putting on a great event, but it is your sponsorship which makes such a difference so please raise as much as you can.
