Stephen Graham was so impressed by the care we provided his mum that he decided to embark on a gruelling 24-hour challenge to raise funds for us.

He set about completing the Yeti Challenge by running or walking five miles every four hours – all with 20kg of kit on his back.

On his online fundraising page, before setting off, he declared, “I won’t return home until this challenge is finished”.

Well now he can after completing the final stage of his fundraiser at St Michael’s, where he was greeted by family and friends.

Stephen’s mum died a few weeks ago. He praised the care provided to her by the clinical staff at St Michael’s, but also the support offered to his relatives.

His online fundraising page has collected over £3,300 and is still open for donations here
