Nick Gurney said the phone call telling him he’d won our Lottery jackpot was the best call he’d taken for ages.

The Hospice supporter won £1,000 in the weekly St Michael’s Hospice Lottery draw, having played for years.

“I was extremely surprised to be told I’d won,” said Nick.

“It was just nice to have a pleasant phone call instead of cold callers.

“I like to support local causes, and this is a great opportunity to do that.”
Nick says the money might help pay for a return holiday to Majorca.

“I think the winnings have made that decision for us,” added Nick.
