Entitled ‘Love your Local Hospice’, the series of TV advertisements will be shown on ITV over 10 days, starting on Sunday (14th February), and will showcase the love, care, friendship and support each of the hospices provides to children and adults and their families.

Each year, hospices across the West Midlands area care for over 26,000 adult patients and support over 1,500 children and their families.

The cost of providing all these services each year is approximately £80 million and many hospices, like St Michael’s are reliant on voluntary donations to meet these.

Ruth Denison, Director of Income Generation at St Michael’s, said: “Through this campaign we are hoping to break down barriers about Hospice Care by bringing the reality of what Hospices are about into people’s homes. Hospice’s are warm, caring places often filled with light and love and this comes across strongly in the advert. We hope that people will be encouraged to find out more about the work of their local hospice like St Michael’s, to understand what care and support we provide and importantly know that we are there for them should they need us.

It is through the generosity of our supporters that these services are there for local people when they need it. By joining together with other local hospices in an innovative way we also hope to highlight how important it is that this support continues.
