Carol Condie has walked her way into our hearts.

The St Michael’s supporter received the call everyone wants after winning our Hospice Lottery jackpot.

The £1,000 will help Carol fund a trip to the United States with friends, but before that she has helped us in another way by taking part in our new-look Big Spring Walk.

“It was great to see so many people turn out on a drizzly day,” said Carol. “It was a great walk, very well organised and lots of fun was had with friends. I will definitely be doing it again next year.”

Carol, who also takes part in our Venus midnight walk each year, has played the St Michael’s Hospice Lottery for 20 years, and previously won first prize back in 2005. She says she knows all about the work carried out by St Michael’s through her work in social care.

“I’ve spent a bit of time in domiciliary care, and it’s through this work that I’ve met people who have had respite care or end-of-life care. I have also completed courses with the Hospice’s Education team.

“I’ve lots of friends with relatives who have been cared for by St Michael’s, and I only hear good things about the charity.”
