Tess Wilson’s jackpot Hospice Lottery win came at just the right time.  

“I was about to visit my six grandchildren who all live in Cornwall. We don’t get to see each other very often, so some of the winnings went towards a day out with them, which was great.”

Over the years, Tess and St Michael’s have become firm friends.

A decade ago, she answered an appeal for volunteers at our new Home & Living Store in Ross-on-Wye.

She enjoyed it then, and still loves it now having become a much-valued volunteer who gives up her time at the Alton Road store twice a week.

Tess has also felt the benefit of the Hospice’s care after receiving advice and support for her mother a few years ago.

As a Hospice Lottery player, she has previously won £200, but this is the first time she has hit the jackpot.

“I received a letter asking me to call St Michael’s. I had no idea why,” she said.

“When they told me I’d won the £1,000 jackpot I couldn’t believe it.”
