The wild, undulating beauty of Shropshire, mid-Wales and its surrounds are a thrill for many weekend visitors and holiday-makers.
Lois Hopwood though, who has been an artist all her life, rediscovered her love for drawing in the quiet solitude of Wales. She works from small pen sketches to make large drawn landscapes on lining paper and panel.
‘They are all local landscapes taken from sketches completed on walks in the Teme Valley and the borders,’ she said.
Lois and her partner, the potter Tony Hall, will be displaying their work at Canwood.
‘We’ve been involved a lot with St Michael’s Hospice over the years and we’re looking forward to the exhibition,’ Lois added.
Lois and Tony run courses at Castle Hill Arts in Knucklas, near Knighton, for all abilities.
