Winning the St Michael’s Hospice Lottery means a family holiday tradition can continue for Jayne Limb.
The Hospice supporter has gone on holiday with her sister since she was 17, and this year’s destination is the Greek island of Kefalonia.
“Winning the St Michael’s Hospice Lottery was such a wonderful surprise,” said Jayne, who banked £1,000.
“Money can’t make everything right, but it was a little ray of sunshine which will allow me and my sister to have a wonderful holiday.”
Almost three years ago, Jayne’s mum was taken ill with sepsis.
“I’d cared for her all my life. The Hospice was suggested as a place where she could receive end of life care. Unfortunately, they didn’t have a bed for her, and she was cared for at Brockhampton Court Nursing Home until she died.
“At the same time, my Uncle Paul was being cared for St Michael’s. The care he received was wonderful, and I will always hold the Hospice in high regard for the care they showed my uncle, and compassion to us as a family.”
