The Sophie’s Star campaign has inspired a host of auctions, charity galas and other fundraising events.

The thousands of pounds raised has helped fund a room at St Michael’s which gives teenagers and young people a place of their own at the Hospice.

Tesco have been so inspired by Jenny Watts’s devotion to raising money in memory of her daughter Sophie that staff at the Belmont and Bewell Street stores have been jumping out of aeroplanes, abseiling down buildings and organising a family fun day at the Severn Stars pub in Clehonger.

When the Charities Department at Tesco received a letter from Jenny, they also wanted to support her and chose to donate two Amazon Fire tablets for use in the young people’s rooms.

Steve Winfield, Store Manager at Tesco in Bewell Street, said ‘Jenny used to work with me at Tesco, so I know what a wonderful person she is.

‘I’m delighted that we are helping to support such a worthwhile cause.’

Jenny said, ‘It means so much to all my family to have support from Tesco. Sophie loved her gadgets, so they are an appropriate addition for the teenager’s room.’

Everyone at St Michael’s Hospice would like to thank all of the Sophie’s Star team and Tesco for their valuable and continuing support.
