To celebrate their golden wedding anniversary, Brenda and David Piears invited 120 of their friends and family to celebrate 50 years of marriage.

The party took place at Hereford Rowing Club in Hereford on 15th October 2016. Brenda and David, who both volunteer at St Michael’s, asked guests to donate to the Hospice rather than buy presents. Together they raised £656.

Brenda said, ‘I help with the admin for Children’s Services, so I hear about all the work the Hospice Team are doing with young people. It is absolutely clear to me just how important their support is for families.

‘Volunteering also gives structure to my week. I enjoy the office atmosphere and being part of a team of dedicated people.’

As a qualified accountant, David volunteers for the Finance Team where his skills and expertise also provide enormous support to the work of the Hospice.

Everyone at St Michael’s would like to thank the happy couple for their generous donation and the support their volunteering brings to help St Michael’s to continue to provide the best possible care.
