More than £8,000 was raised during the first ever St Michael’s Hospice Plant Fair.

Held along the terrace of the Hospice’s base in Bartestree, the two-day event attracted well over 1,000 visitors.

On sale was an array of plants grown by Hospice supporters as well as pupils at a number of Herefordshire primary schools.

Some businesses also donated items to sell.

‘We’re delighted that so many people attended our Plant Fair,’ said Gaynor Warren, the event organiser.

‘There was a real buzz around the stalls and we’ve had some lovely feedback from many who visited.’

St Michael’s would like to thank all the community plant donors, including schools and local gardening clubs, business plant donors, such as Allensmore Nurseries, Growing Local and Early Hours, plus Gill Watts, Margaret Nicholls, Sarah Orme, Steve and Tom Powell, and the many volunteers and Hospice staff who ran stalls and the cafe, plus S&A Fresh Produce and other traders.
