This is the latest in a cricket series set-up by Hereford twins over a decade ago.

Brothers Robert and Adam Matravers founded the annual Richard Matravers Memorial Charity cricket match in 2012 in memory of their cricket-mad father who died at St Michael’s Hospice.

Each summer, Robert and Adam gather friends, relatives and colleagues for a cricket match, with a brother captaining each team.

The matches took on even greater significance in 2017 when the brothers’ mum, Mim, also died at St Michael’s.

Despite a couple of breaks in between – including a Covid-enforced postponement in 2020 – the matches have raised almost £10,000 for St Michael’s.

This year’s match takes place at Bartestree & Lugwardine Cricket Club on Sunday, 27th August from 1pm.

Free admission. All welcome. There will also be a raffle and auction for St Michael’s.
