Dani said, ‘The nurses at St Michael’s Hospice are the reason I want to work in palliative care. This is the first time I have visited the new building and it is amazing. I would love to work here after I have qualified.
The biggest memory I have of the old Hospice is the nights I spent there with my mum. The nurses went off to get me magazines, Turkish Delight and chocolate. They did everything they could to make sure that mum and I could enjoy the time we had together.
That wasn’t part of their job and they never got paid for doing it – but they did it for me and my mum and I will never forget that. Now I want to give the same kind of care back to someone else.’
We all wish Dani the very best for her career.
