At the presentation Allan Lloyd, who only last August celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary by climbing six Welsh peaks raising upwards of £6,000 for the hospice, said that their challenge “Reaching out for Radnorshire” – to raise awareness and support for St Michael’s – would carry on in Angela’s name.

Allan wishes, in continuing this challenge, to keep Angela’s name and legacy alive. The above total is the combined donations given at Angela’s funeral and those received immediately following from those who could not travel in the then adverse winter weather conditions. The family is most grateful and somewhat humbled by such personal support.

The donations for the hospice on this occasion will go towards extending the Hospice Out-Reach programme into west Herefordshire and Radnorshire.

The presentation photograph, taken in the new Inpatient Unit adjacent to the Lloyd Suite, shows from left to right: Allan Lloyd, Emma Saunders Health Care Assistant in the IPU Ward, Allan and Angela’s son and daughter-in-law Peter and Alyson, and Paddy Nugent the Hospice’s Community Fundraising Manager.
