About the role
We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our incredible team on an permanent basis. Based in the beautiful village of Bartestree, approximately 5 miles east of Hereford city, St Michael’s Hospice has been providing the highest quality care, to the local community for over 35 years. At St Michael’s we are not just offering a job, but the chance to make a real difference in people’s lives.  You will work within our multi-disciplinary team providing physical, psycho-social and spiritual care to patients and their families. We offer support with revalidation and ongoing CPD through both in-house and external education. This post is conditional to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check. Working in the In Patient Unit (IPU) you have the option of applying for a set shift pattern of permanent nights, in a full time position. Nights: 7:30pm- 8:00am
What we are looking for
The essentials we are looking for in a qualified Registered Nurse is experience and a broad knowledge of general nursing care, as well as, knowledge of national and local health initiatives and basic IT keyboard and function skills. Desirable skills would include attendance to an Advanced Communication Skills course, experience and knowledge of specialist palliative care and/or specialist palliative care qualification and a teaching and mentorship qualification. The ideal candidate will be able to organise their own time effectively, adapt to changing demands and conditions, remain calm under pressure, and communicate in a clear and engaging manner.
