The fundraising group which ran its heart out for St Michael’s

A fundraising group which spent a year taking part in runs across the country smashed its fundraising target on the way to collecting thousands for St Michael’s Hospice.

The Runathon 12 in 12 was set-up by Darren Gibbons with each member of the 14-strong group asked to complete at least 12 running events throughout 2018, with many completing many more.

Most of the distances were 10k’s or Half Marathons, with the majority of members taking part in our RUN Hereford event at Hereford Leisure Centre last May.

Darren himself completed 18 half marathons, two marathons, three triathlons and a duathlon.

The group’s efforts have helped raise the incredible sum of £5,835.85 for St Michael’s.

And the story doesn’t end there.

Darren’s efforts may even see him crowned a world record holder after he completed the Swansea Half Marathon while blindfolded.
