Venus Challenge 2008 - Rules
Places are limited to 800 and entries are processed in the order that we receive them. Closing date for entries is Friday 29th August 2008, subject to the number of entries received. Each individual walker must fill in an application form, even if walking as part of a team.
IMPORTANT: YOU CANNOT ENTER ON THE NIGHT
• Your registration fee covers all expenses, including administration of your entry, your T-shirt, a light breakfast, drink on route and a certificate. It secures your place on the walk and is non-refundable.
• If you are unable to walk please let us know as soon as possible. You must not 'give' your place to anyone else and it is important that you return your sponsorship form even if it has no entries.
• You are not permitted to use any of the sponsorship money you raise to pay for your expenses. All sponsorship money given to you must pass directly to St Michael's Hospice.
• The Venus Challenge is not a race and walkers are not allowed to run or jog. You can power walk but no walker must pass the nominated lead walkers.
• All participants must be aged 16 or over on 20th September 2008 to take part in the Venus Challenge.
• All participants are responsible for their own medical condition. If in any doubt about your ability to finish the Venus Challenge, or you have a medical condition, you must consult your doctor prior to commencing your exercise programme.
• Disabled entrants are welcome to take part although due to the nature of the event we ask you to contact the organisers prior to entry as some disabilities might not find this event feasible. If a disabled person requires assistance from another person, this person must also enter the Venus Challenge but will not have to pay. Only guide dogs are accepted - no other pets or animals are permitted at the Venus Challenge or on the event route.
• The purchase or consumption of alcohol prior to or during the event is absolutely not permitted.
