MARATHON EFFORT FOR CHARITY

Swapping horsepower for manpower Pencombe Young Farmers Club are pushing a tractor over a marathon distance on the road from Leominster to Bromyard to Hereford on Saturday 31st May 2008 to raise money for charity.

All proceeds are being donated to the County Air Ambulance and St Michaels Hospice.

“The route, in excess of 26 miles, will be a huge test of endurance for the members, but we are delighted to be supporting two such worthy charities,” said Matt Price, club chairman.  He continued: “We are thrilled to have the support of MS & EM Patrick of Leominster who have kindly agreed to loan us the tractor to push.”

Starting in Leominster at 9am on the 31st of May a rolling team of 7 will push the tractor, weighing in excess of two tonnes, up hill and down dale come rain or shine. The club aims to raise a substantial amount for the two chosen charities and hopes to see many people along the route encouraging the team along.
