Remembrance Afternoon June 2010

Date: 07/06/2010
The fabulous flower arrangement (pictured to your right) was prepared in front of 60 people who had come to the Hospice to remember a friend or member of their family who had sadly died about 9 months ago. As the name of each person who died was read out , a flower was added to the arrangement.  There is one flower for each name remembered. Balloons were given to all of the children present, who proceeded to write a messages on them and then launched them as an act of remembrance at the end of the service.

St Michael's Hospice hosts remembrance afternoons four times a year where families can come back to remember and in many cases let go a little of their sadness. Many say that they find the afternoon extremely helpful in their journey.

The next afternoon will be held on the 4th September when the Hospice will be remembering those who died in December 2009 and January - February 2010.
