Mouse Castle delights visitors

Date: 28/06/2010

On a gloriously sunny day more than 300 people took the opportunity to visit the rarely opened Mouse Castle gardens, a 2.5 acre oasis in the city centre.  Mr & Mrs Ian Reynolds kindly shared their beautiful grounds on the afternoon of 27th June in aid of St Michael’s Hospice.  Visitors were able to stroll through exotic plant collections featuring specimens from as far afield as Australia, Vietnam and South America before enjoying delicious afternoon tea served by Hospice volunteers.

The event raised more than £2000 in vital funds for St Michael’s and Stephen Rabbitts, Head of Support Services, said “…we are absolutely delighted with the day; everyone had such a lovely afternoon.  I would particularly like to thank Mr & Mrs Reynolds for opening their beautiful gardens, all the volunteers who served teas and Herefordshire Council for allowing car parking at nearby Brockington”.

Anyone who is interested in opening their garden for the Hospice should contact Geraldine Rose on 01432 851000
