Hereford Half Marathon & Fun Run

The Hereford Half Marathon has been established for 9 years and is an important event in the Hospice calendar. The 13 mile 193 yards road race contains a good balance of undulating and flat sections and the current record time is 1:08:57 (2006). It is a single lap course with good spectating points, starting and finishing at Hereford Leisure Centre. Every person completing the Half Marathon will receive a T-shirt, not a medal as originally stated on the forms. There are changing facilities, showers, parking, refreshments and a bar available.
Entry fees per person are £12 advance/£14 if affiliated to a club or £13 advance/£15 if unaffiliated to a club. Sponsorship is welcomed (and greatly appreciated!)

Runners must be over 17 to compete. Please note that any persons under the age of 18 wishing to run the Half Marathon need to enter using the paper form (widely available) as a parent/guardian signature is required. In a separate race Fun Runners do just one lap of Hereford Racecourse (1.5 miles) starting and finishing at the Leisure Centre. It is open to everyone, there is no age limit, and you can run, walk or even be pushed! You can take part in a team or on your own. Why not do it in fancy dress? There are prizes for the best costume.
All children who finish the race will be awarded a medal. There are also two trophies for the highest amount of sponsorship raised, one for an individual and one for a team.

Put your sponsor form online
If you are being sponsored to run the Half Marathon or Fun Run, why not put your sponsor form online? At www.justgiving.com you can have your own fundraising page where friends and family can visit and sponsor you. They can pay with a debit or credit card, so you don’t physically have to collect the sponsor money either! There are several hospices called St Michael’s, so please look out for our logo and our registered charity number 511179. Once you have set up your page simply email all your contacts and let them know that you are running in aid of the Hospice and give them the web address so they can fill in your form, easy!
