This year's Fete & Family Fun Day was successfully held at Bartestree Village Hall, making up for the cancelled Fete in 2007 due to the severe flooding that affected the region. The added space that was gained from moving the annual Fete up to the village hall resulted in more amusements and family-oriented fun as well as being able to keep the traditional stalls and competitions.
Entertainments included an exhilarating parachute jump by The Pilgrim Parachute Display Team and a sizzling belly dancing routine by “Mirage” from Bodenham. Children’s activities included a bouncy castle and slide, beat the goalie (ex under-21 England and Aston Villa Goal keeper Jamie Hales), coconut shie and a teddy tombola.
The Hospice would like to thank everyone who made the day possible: ABC Print, Jewsons, Dawe Brothers, Bengry Mazda, hemming Amusements, The Pilgrim Parachute Display Team, Mirage, The Hospice Angels, Martin & Cheryl ice-cream, St Johns Ambulance, Bartestree Village Hall, Sunshine Radio, Blue Line Taxis, The New Inn, Mercia Radios, St Mary’s High School.
Everyone who volunteered their help, donated goods and all of the spectators who attended, a big thanks is also extended to you. The current fundraising total for the Fete & Family Fun Day is over £4,500!
