How we give help

The Hospice has 16 inpatient beds and a Day Hospice. We have an extensive team of doctors led by Tony Blower, a Palliative Medicine Consultant. All are highly experienced in Palliative Care. There is also a team of specialist nurses; a physiotherapist, occupational and complementary therapists; three social workers, a full time chaplain, social care and chaplaincy volunteers and access to a psychologist.

Our aim is to see and care directly for those people with the most complex conditions in our catchment area. We work together with the County Hospital Specialist Care Team and the Community Macmillan Nurses to ensure all those with specialist palliative care needs are cared for and together we support the local GP's and district nurses who deliver palliative care to people where less specialist involvement is needed.
