Gift Aid

Gift Aid is a way of making your donation worth more, at no extra cost to you.  If you Gift Aid your donation, for every pound you give, St Michael's gets an extra 28p; for every £10 you give, the Hospice will get another £2.80 from the government.

How can I Gift Aid?

To Gift Aid you must be a UK taxpayer and must have paid income or capital gains tax in the UK equal to or above the tax that will be claimed.

We usually have a special Gift Aid tick box on any fundraising form that we send out that you simply need to tick and sign. However, if you are sending in a donation without a form, simply mention that you would like to Gift Aid it and we will send you a very simple form to complete. Don't forget, you only need to sign a Gift Aid declaration once, and on every subsequent donation you make we can also claim 28p for every pound.

On top of that, if you are a higher rate taxpayer you can claim further tax relief on the donation in your annual tax return.
