Fundraising
At St Michael's we believe that all the care we give should be free, so that those who need it the most are not stopped from receiving it. Obviously this care is not free to give, it costs over £2.5m each year, and we raise the vast majority of this money through fundraising.
Thousands of people every year are involved in raising money for the Hospice whether it is giving spare change through one of our collecting tins around the county, playing our lottery, committing to give a regular amount each month or supporting us through our charity shops, support groups or holding or attending events. We are very grateful to everyone who shows their compassion in this way.
St Michael's Fundraising Department holds five major fundraising events each year - the Half Marathon & Fun Run, Light up a Life, Christmas Raffle, Summer Fete and Sue Parry Six-a-side Football Tournament. All the other events which raise money are thought up, organised and manned by people in the local community. Our job is to support these people so that they can raise as much money as possible for the care of our patients and the support of their familes and friends.
