Eye-catching Tractor Run raises more than 2K

Event was in memory of John Synnock

Tractors as far as the eye could see paid a fitting tribute to a Kington man who died at St Michael’s Hospice last November.

The 22-mile Tractor Run through the picturesque countryside along Herefordshire’s Powys border was a nod to John Synnock’s agricultural heritage which led to him co-founding Kington-based groundwork contractors J&J Synnock and Sons.

‘Tractors were his life so we thought it would be very fitting,’ said John’s daughter-in-law, Claire Synnock.

‘We just wanted to give something back.

‘We can’t praise the nursing staff at St Michael’s enough. John just felt so safe and welcome there.’

John’s own tractor was among the vehicles driven along the route.

The day, which included a raffle, raised £2,127 which has been split equally between St Michael’s and Midlands Air Ambulance.

The photos show the Tractor Run, John Synnock and Claire during a visit to St Michael’s to hand over the money raised during the event.
