End of Life care
The same team that will have looked after an individual throughout all their visits to the Hospice will care for them in the last few days of their life. We make sure each person is as comfortable as possible and use conventional and complementary therapies to control pain and ease other symptoms. Individuals, their families and friends are also given emotional and spiritual support by members of the spiritual care, social care and nursing teams.
When a person dies at the Hospice, their family and friends can spend time with them in our chapel of rest. Our spiritual and social care teams can help with funeral and other arrangements and we have trained counsellors who can help both children and adults to come to terms with their bereavement.
