Delight for dozens of dancers

Dozens of fundraisers hotfooted it to Bishop’s School in Hereford on Saturday for an afternoon of dance.

The St Michael’s Hospice event has raised at least £1,300, with more set to come in through online donations.

Eighty dancers took part, with more than half staying the entire six hours.

The event was led by Becks White and Laura Lowe from The Starlight Company, which is based in Hereford.

Those taking part enjoyed various dance disciplines including Zumba, ballet and dance party hits.

‘The Danceathon was a fun, energetic way to spend a Saturday afternoon and we’re so grateful to those who took part,’ said Paddy Nugent, the Hospice’s Community Fundraising Manager.

‘Becks and Laura led the day so well, and everyone was impressed by their energy and enthusiasm.

‘Many thanks also to Bishop’s School for the loan their hall to us free of charge, and to CRG Security for opening and closing the venue, again without charge.’
