Complementary Therapies

“I have my hair done at the Hospice every week, I have a manicure every fortnight and I like to have my hands massaged. Being here and having these kind people look after me helps me very much.”

Complementary therapy is an important part of our care, helping people to relax eases worry and reduces the effect of pain. It is also an opportunity for patients and carers to talk about their situation, which can relieve emotional stress.

Hospice Complementary Therapists and team of voluntary therapists offer relaxing and Shiatsu massage, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Acupuncture, Reiki and even Creative Writing. Volunteers from the British Red Cross offer manicures and hand massage and the Hospice has a team of volunteer hairdressers.
