Bereavement Support
We offer bereavement support to people who have been bereaved by the death of someone cared for by St Michael's Hospice, whether in-patient, day-patient or out-patient.
Six to eight weeks after a person dies the hospice social worker will telephone the next of kin to ask how he or she is getting on.
Three months after a death the family will be invited to attend a lunchtime Bereavement Support Meeting with Hospice staff and volunteers. This is held on the first Monday of the month from 12.30pm to 2.30pm in the Day Hospice. It is a chance for family and friends to ask questions and voice concerns directly with Hospice staff. Bereavement support can be requested and future plans made.
About six months after bereavement all family and friends are invited to a Remembrance Afternoon at the Hospice. Children and adults are invited to come back and share time with us.
If you would like to discuss any bereavement matters with us, please get in touch by writing to or calling the social care team at St Michael's Hospice, Bartestree, Hereford HR1 4HA, 01432 851000
