Gift Aid is a way of making your donation worth more, at no extra cost to you. If you Gift Aid your donation, for every pound you give, St Michael's currently gets an extra 25p. For every £10 you give, the Hospice will get another £2.50 from the Government.
How can I Gift Aid my donation?
To Gift Aid you must be a UK taxpayer and must have paid income or capital gains tax in the UK equal to or above the tax that will be claimed.
We usually have a special Gift Aid tick box on any fundraising form that we send out that you simply need to tick and sign. However, if you are sending in an unsolicited donation, simply mention that you would like to Gift Aid it and we will send you a very simple form to complete. Alternatively, download the Gift Aid Declaration form here (PDF). Don't forget, you only need to sign a Gift Aid declaration once, and on every subsequent donation you make we can currently also claim 25p for every pound.
If you are a higher rate taxpayer you can claim further tax relief on the donation in your annual tax return.
